Database Administrator
• Member of the global Database Administration Team providing operations and project support.
• Providing technical operations support for database issues for Oracle and SQL database environment.
• Work with project teams to ensure smooth transition of new databases into production environment
• Establish and maintain best practices, processes and procedures related to databases administration
• Performance monitoring, testing and capacity planning
• Creation and maintenance of system documentation.
Skills Requirements
• Strong with Oracle 10g / 11g and SQL server 2005 / 2008
• Experience using Unix and Windows scripting language to automate tasks
• Strong working knowledge of Oracle and SQL High Availability features
• Experience with performance and tuning optimization for Oracle and SQL Databases.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools for databases
Experience Requirements
• At least 5 years relevant experience with 3 years in a similar role
• Knowledge on ITIL
• Relevant degree in IT
• Willing to work extended hours on occasional arrangements
• Experience working in a financial institution or similar environment would be preferred.
