Overview

SQLSTAR, as a technology solutions provider, brings new hardware and software solution interfacing ARM processor with FPGA to handle high data transfer rates, where in high signal processing tasks can be offloaded to FPGA and integrated into Android system running on TI OMAP 3530.

Solution Architecture

The solution is composed of integrating FPGA with Android running on Texas Instruments OMAP 3530 Processor. SQL Star has built the hardware and software interface between the ARM and FPGA, to facilitate high data transfer communication using high speed interface.

OMAP3530 is a high-performance, applications processor based on OMAP 3 architecture provided by Texas Instruments and is a low power IC that can be used especially for video and image processing, and communication devices. To achieve the highest throughput, the host processor (in this case the OMAP 3530) uses its direct memory access (DMA) controller to exchange data with the third party board processor.                                                                               

Finally we have integrated this into the Android system by modifying the framework and hardware abstraction layer (HAL) for a complete working solution
